ABOUT US
The 1050 CHUM Oldies Dance was a very popular event with the 1050 CHUM listeners. The first dance took place in the mid 1980's at The Smokey Rose in Scarborough, Ontario. Throughout the years it made stops at The Ontario Place Island Club, The CN Tower and various other locations.
The 1050 CHUM Oldies Dance was revived in 2002 with host Marc Chambers and DJ Wayne at Hollywood on the Queensway. Sadly due to illness host Marc Chambers passed away in 2008. Amber Payie from CHUM/CP24 took over as host. 1050 CHUM eventually changed its broadcast format and the Oldies format was dropped but the Oldies Dance continued.
The show must go on. In 2009 DJ Wayne continue with the popular Oldies format and the show was rebranded as The Oldies Dance LIVE featuring DJ Wayne. The Oldies Dance remained at 1184 The Queensway in Etobicoke at The Hollywood Bar & Grill, The Brawley and finally Legends on the Queensway.
After a 12 year run the final Oldies Dance at Legends on the Queensway took place on Saturday September 20th. 2012.
